Witter in the UK makes one. Thule also. A quick google search pops them up. In NZ I cannot be sure. In north America nobody thinks of Jaguar as a tow car.

The official Jaguar NZ site shows that a factory approved tow bar is available as an accessory.

I only just got the car, and in the owners manual it only refers to V6 and Diesel as "a tow car"

So wasnt sure if it was possible, with the V8 and the transmission ?

Anyone got a picture of the bar and the attachment arms to chassis that goes underneath, as may have to get one made up.

Thanks

I am part Kiwi and my brother lives down there. So you can't be offended when I remind you that a kiwi always needs a towbar to get the lambs to market.

It is impolite to link this post to another XF site but this topic is well covered by UK forums. Google the topic. Also I am sure Witter and Thule will have website photos or their dealers will. UK drivers tow caravans and horse boxes rather than sheep. They use the Landie for agricultural towing.

The XF is rated for towing by Jaguar and factory approved tow bars are available. The petrol and diesel use the same transmissions or variants thereof. No worries there. The V8 has plenty of grunt for towing and the transmission is well cooled. I think ZF recommends an oil change at 140,000 km if used for towing, normal use it is sealed for life.

Have to admit I like the joke. Of course here we will have to adapt it to be about Montanans, where it has been said that men are men and sheep are nervous.

It has to be either the body moldings will have to be cut or something about the electronic diff. My 97 SAAB Aero had no factory hitch officially because of the rear bumper mouldings but eventually somebody made one to fit.
