Default Fram Air filters for 5.0L engine - SOLVED get STP SA9513

FRAM says CA9513, so I ordered a pair. They don't fit. Just a tad too long and too thick around the top. Find something else.

Dang, just went out for Purolator A24866, and they are identical to the FRAM CA9513 except the rubber is black. I really don't want to be bothered with cleaning, drying and oiling K&N.

Tried WIX #42261, it was even longer than the FRAM and Purolator.

Then I went to STP SA9513, and it's a perfect fit. Whew. Under $16 at Autozone.

The Fram and the STP numbers are the same. Should be interchangable. The Fram probably could have been forced in, but STP was the better fit.

How often does the manual say to change it?

The Fram filter has a wire mesh top that pretty much prevents it from being compressed along the long dimension. If you arch it in, it will try very hard to pop out when pushed down. Do you really want to find out how much it costs to replace a cracked Jaguar air box? Fuggedaboudit.

With New England tree's dropping their seeds and plenty of pollen, dust etc in the air we thought it's a good time to change our XF's Filters. We use a Mahle aftermarket filter in our V8 Supercharged and have done so for a couple of years. Seem to be as original and fit nicely, there's a small out of fiddling to get into position but only took a couple of minutes to do each side.

$12.07 each minus club discount. Click here for info: http://www.sngbarratt.com/ProductDet...5-8d534b41a00b

These cars use a very common air filter.

Wish I read this before ordering the Fram... I can also verify that it does not fit. Neither does the Wix. Both are too long. Picked up two from SNG Barratt USA and I am not disappointed! Finally a perfect fit filter. The very reasonable price and quick shipping was a bonus!
