Without doing any research, I am going to say my guess is that is a temp sensor.

That looks like the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) receiver. Does it look like it came out from under the wheel well? The receiver is what picks up the signal from the TPMS on each wheel. Looks like you can just put it back into the brackets.

its an air sensor that sits in the front bumper. take the bottom air damn off and you can reach up and put it back in the slot

You guys are all wrong. That is the headlight fluid level sensor. It screws in to the back of the headlight to monitor the alkaline content of the headlight fluid. ..LOL

There is nothing worse than having headlight fluid at the wrong pH, it can really throw off the light dispersion ...

It's definitely the TPMS sensor. There's one at all four corners of the car (reading the sensor in each wheel/tire). Potholes can dislodge them. They're fairly easy to put back into place, as they just slide into a type of channel - that's probably also why they're so easy to dislodge.

I agree....that's why I secured mine in place, using a "wire tie".

A Tire Pressure Monitoring System for sure. It fits into a special shaped clip on the front dam. Usually becomes dislodged and bounces about inside until it either falls out or off!

Jag will charge you an hours' labor to put it back into place. Redonkulous.

It's a TPMS. I had a similar issue a few years back.
