Default Jaguardrive Selector

Recently bought my first Jag 2008 2.7TD XF delighted with it but one thing niggles me every time I get in it the car is in mint condition it could be new if you never knew otherwise except there are a few big scratches on the top round bit of the Jaguardrive selector wheel thing which I don't like the plasticy look of in the first place.

Anyway basically my question is there an aftermarket (genuine Jaguar or otherwise not fussed) round piece of leather or walnut or chrome or any material that will "go" with the interior of the car that I can stick on top of it.

If my post isn't very clear ill add pics.

Thanks and hello to everyone on the forum.

eBay has some different options including wood and Jaguar logos. There's someone on here that was making them as well with the R logo.

Rimmer Bros (which is a UK firm) sell both the black leather topper and a replacement gear selector 'knob', see here:
Jaguar XF Gear Selector at www.rimmerbros.co.uk

A few months ago I fitted just the the topper and it was pretty good.
Then about two months ago I got both the knob and the topper, and I'm very happy with them, way better than the stock ones. The replacement knob is more 'chromey' than the stock one and it has rubber grip rings around it, looks much better than the stock one.
I got a new topper as well the second time around as I suspected I would have to destroy the first topper to get it off, but it turned out to be easy to remove with a bit of fishing line so now I have a spare. You have to remove the topper to get at the mounting screw underneath which holds the knob on (Torx T20 I think).
Two ways to get your original metal topper off. Easiest way is to drill a small hole in the middle of it then insert a medium size self-tapper screw and gently screw it in, this will prise off the top piece, but destroy it in the process (big hole in the middle!). The other way, which I haven't tried, is to lever it off with a small screwdriver inserted under the edge. But this has a risk of causing damage to the original knob, but if you are going to replace the knob anyway probably worth the risk.

Mina has a "growler" topper that looks good and is very inexpensive. Chris said he was going to get an R made up as well. Need to follow up with him and will post results.

Thanks for the replys guys.

Totally off subject but has anyone had the chrome side power vents?

There is a cheaper version on fleabay that's basically just a chrome sticker that's the same shape as the existing vents that you stick on, has anyone seen these cheap stick-on ones fitted? Do they look **** or do they look the same as the full Jaguar replacement parts?

I fitted "cheap" stick on chrome side vents about nine months ago, you can't tell them from factory vents and they still look like new.

Ok so definitely worth doing it then?

I want to personalise the car a wee bit with minor cosmetic details I.e a bit of chrome here, an extra bit of leather there etc but without getting that modified boy racer look. Any other additional add ons that would fit that bill guys? I've seen some real nice chrome "leaper" logos but I don't know where I'd put them and make them look as if they'd always been there.

Any more ideas welcome and very appreciated

I have one large chrome leaper stuck on my dash (on the passenger side between the air vents), and two small ones on the body, one each side just above the chrome side vent covers. But make sure you angle them correctly, originally I put the side ones on pointing 'flat' and they didn't quite look right, I had to get another pair and put them on at the correct angle, and now they look much better. Couldn't just remove and refit the original ones as removing them destroys the adhesive.
