Default Leak in footwell

Hello everyone,

we had a storm last night and i have a pool of water in the passenger footwell. The carpet under the dash behind the glove box is dp around half way across so water most likely comming from above.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this as a common fault or have experience of most likely cause?

Thanls in advance

First thing I would do is to check that the Sunroof drains are clear.

This may or may not be relevant to your situation but I recently discovered I had a serious leak from the airconditioner condensate drain, there was water under the carpet the whole way through the floor. If it's soaked from below, the carpet will probably wick the water above the source. If you're certain it was dry before being in the rain and then wet after, the a/c is probably not your source but worth considering. The thing that tipped me off that the water I had was condensate rather than storm water was the fact that the water in the floorpans was crystal clear, whereas rain water will likely carry grime with it as it gets in.

Thanks, the carpet under the glove box was damp so i think the water is from above. Going to check scuttle drains today but think they are clear.
