He had his reservations on the blockages as i explained. So we went down the plastic route for now.

Only the SC 5.0L version has been released so far.
Mine has been fine after I did the modifications shown above. Have about 1500 miles on it so far.

Won't help me as it's for the V-6 but it's a step in the right direction and I can only hope they someday release the 5.0 version.

Yes that is the version I posted a picture of up thread. It's the one bydand educated me on.
I dissembled it then measured and drilled out the passageways and then used the stock seals in place of the ones that came with the Al. version.
Very good suggestions too! 2000+ miles so far and all is well.

Now I can't say drilling things out will help or not but it did make sense so I did it.

@clubairth1 great information. Looking to do this on my X351 5.0 NA. What did you use to reseal the two halves and did you loctite the screws when reassembling?

I used Hi-Temp RTV. I was worried about it squishing out into the inner passages and possibly restricting coolant flow. So I did it twice to check what it looked like inside. Helped determine how big a bead of RTV to use. Now I have to admit I learned something new about RTV and it does make sense. Apply the RTV and assemble the joint but only put the fasteners on finger tight. Wait 30 minutes so the RTV starts to set up. Now torque the bolts/screws down to proper values. The idea is if the connection is tightened while the RTV is wet then is gets pushed out and you have a bigger chance for a leak.

Not sure it's needed but I have changed how I use RTV.
No Loc-Tite used but that's a great idea for sure.

Now close to 5K miles on the install and no problems.

Has anyone installed a rear crossover pipe as shown in the attached pic. It has a rubber(???) seal. I bought it off ebay last September. The quality of the casting seems good and the holes are clean and show no narrowing. I am planning to use it on my 2014 XJL 5.0.

No I have not and thanks much for posting that picture. If I had seen that style I would have used it over the ones glued together with sealer. Love O-ring seals!
Any link to the seller?

Hello gentlemen.
I'm glad for this forum. I have a complete kit ready for updating the cooling system. I checked the steel heater pipe and it is without defects. The screws are tightened. I will ensure the free flow of liquid with a drill, the seal is probably Viton and it is quite low! So I will replace it with a higher one, or I will put a pad. Maybe someone has tested the pipe, it is covered with something gooey - it cannot be washed. However, it is clean inside. Maybe the worker spilled his snack...
There are no traces of screws, so it is not used. Bought from Aliexpress.
I have never had a problem with parts for the JAG X100 either. All seals bought from a normal auto parts dealer.

It's a very long thread but yes I recommend using the factory seals on the rear water manifold instead of what comes with the metal rear water manifold.
I have posted this several times before. It's made a bit different from the after market ones.

I opened mine up and drilled out the passages. Mine is the older version before they released the one with an O-ring seal. I think that version would be the best.
