Replacing the battery resolved that.

I had a problem with the screen not showing anything (no seat heater/cooling buttons, no way of turning the radio, no Nav, etc). My wife found the solution, which is very simple. Lock the car using the little black button on the outside of the driver door (not other doors, not the remote key fob). After a couple of minutes, when you open door and then start the car, the infotainment screen works fine. Now we leave the Jaguar locked all the time, even when it's in the garage.

long Islander, do you think your battery is weak? My thought is that the locking of the car is putting the car into a mode where the BMS disconnects the battery from drawdown thus leaving you better equipped to power the system.

I know it sounds goofy, but when the battery goes these cars become basket cases.

Thanks for the input. I have an AGM battery that I bought in September 2016. I don't know if there's way to test a sealed battery like an AGM battery. How do you test a sealed AGM battery? Also, AGM batteries have a very long life.

My last one lasted six years less a month.

I got a new AGM battery from Walmart (delivered to my home for free) and that solved the issue. It's been over a week now and the touchscreen problem is solved. Thanks! Now I can leave the car unlocked in the garage as before. BTW, the H8/Group 49 AGM Everstart battery has the same specs as the Delco and Motorcraft batteryon the Walmart site of the same size but is cheaper than those two and has a 4 year warranty instead of a 3 year warranty but shows as will not fit the Jaguar XF even though it is the same size. So, it's not shown when you put in Jaguar XF. You have to look for the Everstart AGM H8 battery.

I also have just picked up the Walmart H8 battery for my XJ. It even says made in Germany on mine.
Another great suggestion from this forum too!
