Rear door lock central locking fault
Hi Guys,
I have a fault with my rear door not always unlocking with the central locking. I’ve read it’s a common fault and I expect it is the door lock motor mechanism.
My question is.
When it becomes a permanent fault rather than intermittent is it still possible to open the door from inside?
I’ve had the fault on several VW’s and on those cars if it fails completely you have to rip the door card off then drill a hole through the door frame to access a screw.
If it fails that way on the XF I will have to get it fixed sooner rather than later.
Thanks.

Yes. You can still manually open and close. Lock and unlock.
Actuator is a bit fiddly to change but not too bad. I had to do a front one. I assume rear is similar
Make sure you get the right part - it's different for cars with passive door unlocking.
