Question Time To Sell? 2010 XF Supercharged (80,000 miles)

Seeking some personal opinions here. As the title mentions, I own a 2010 XF Supercharged with 80,000 miles. It still runs well, and I've had very little issues with it compared to my previous Audi.

However, now that my warranty has expired, I have been wondering if it's time to sell to avoid any future/potential costly issues I may encounter. I average 15-20k miles a year (I know...it's bad), so by next year I will be close to or at 100k miles.

I still owe on the car, and I'm not sure if it's worth it to keep spending money towards a monthly payment.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

Your car will have complete and utter mechanical, electrical and cosmetic failure at 81,325 miles.

Sell before then.

Sell it to someone who'll be delighted to get a bargain?

The real question is whether you have a trusted non-dealer repair shop that you could use when needed.

If not, then you should probably think of only owning a Jaguar covered by a warranty.

I do have a good friend who is a mechanic. However, he cannot help me on the cost of parts.

So, beyond 80k, are there any major parts that are known to fail in that range?

Have you had the water pump and crossover pipe replaced yet? Those seem to the be the hot-ticket items for the dealer.

Water pump has been replaced twice (under warranty). They have not repaired anything regarding the crossover pipe yet.

If you got a newer similar car you'd spend a lot more, so why change?

^^I still owe about 17k on the loan.

So, I'm wondering if it's worth it to pay it off in the long run or trade/sell and move to something new.

I think the crossover pipe on the SC models is different and is metal? So hopefully won't need replacement. Can anyone confirm?

While it runs well if it were me I'd keep on driving, put some money aside that I save by not trading to a newer model. And find a good Indy shop to help if something goes wrong. 80k isn't that high and sounds like you do highway driving for the most part vs a city runaround

Yep, it's alloy on the SC and XFR.
