Vents won't close
Hi guys,
I have had my 2010 XFS for a few months now and all the vents have stopped going down now. It started when I was cleaning the car and now they will not go down at all. Is there a fuse or something that needs changed or have I actually pulled out a wire or something. Also it has an adaptive suspension warning that won't go away, it won't let the car go into the dynamic setting for the suspension. I have read something about a ride height sensor or something but as you can probably tell I have no idea. Is there anything I can do about it or do I have to take it to jaguar to be fixed.
Thanks for all the help

In terms of the suspension warning have you checked for any diagnostic codes from the OBDII?
Is it possible to turn the feature off. Where would I find that setting. Also I don't have a OBD2 scanner. Any recommendations for one that will work with the jag
I don't recall exactly where it is, but I think its: "Climate" then " settings". There's something like "vent rotation mode" in that menu somewhere, which you might find is set to off.
Any ELM327 OBDII interface will work, its getting it to work with your phone that is more of a challenge. Bluetooth ones don't work with iPhone's I believe (I'm told, I don't have one), you need to get the wifi version. then you need an app to do the scan, on Android Torque is the way to go.

I have a 2009 Jaguar XF that I am repairing the rotating vents on. I replaced the plastic piece that commonly fails on the drivers side and reinstalled the vent. The vent will fully open, but won't close. I have gone through the settings and tried running the heat/air conditioning and shutting the car off, as well as making sure it was on AUTO and not ALWAYS OPEN. Could I have possibly installed the piece incorrectly? I was not able to install it with the vent fully open as it was when I removed it, so the vent was half open at time of reinstallation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I apologize if this was discussed in a thread previously. I have searched for some time with no answer. Thanks in advance.

When you re- installed the vent (after repair) , it was half open , then you started the car etc the vent motor opened it fully ( so, vent motor not necessarily buggered !). for the one time.
then , did the vent do anything at all after that , ever? What, if anything, are the other vents doing ?

Hello all, I have a 2009 XF that I’m trying to get the vents to work the passenger single vent opens and I can even plug it into the other locations and it works fine. I purchased a brand new set of these and when I plug those in they do not work even in the location that works with the one good vent that I have. I’m baffled any suggestions?

I was wondering if the controller needs to “learn” the new actuators? My battery has been running low so I’m going to put it on a power source, plug in the actuators and give it a few minutes to see if this helps. Is there an amp or power source module that controls the actuators? I’ve seen on eBay a set of actuators with what looks like a power amp with cooling fins?
