Default what was Jaguar thinking

So I put my car back in the shop this morning to get my wheels and tires dismounted so I could get them painted and do my brakes. One of the POS lugnuts decided it didnt want to come out and now after drilling the stud so I could get the nut off I called Jaguar to get a stud just to realize they were to shortsighted to make just a stud without buying the whole assembly. Sometimes I wonder what manufacturers are thinking when they do these idiotic things. Alright, rant over

Who are we to question Jaguars wisdom? Much like why would they not put LSD in the XKR's of the past? Things that make you go Hmmmmm.

The S Type is the same, Lincoln LS studs fit, there's a fair chance yours will be the same.

Jaguar lugnuts have always had issues, that's the first thing I replaced on my S-type and XF. There are tons of threads on these forums which talk about replacing the POS lugnuts.

Torque them with a real torque wrench and keep those monkeys with the air impact wrenches at the tire shops away from your car, and you'll never have a problem with the lug nuts.

So stop blaming Jaguar for the stupid things you or your mechanics do.

Good, done with my rant.

You can replace just one stud, as has been posted.

+1 to torque them properly

My STR is in effect the same car and the only trouble with a lug nut was a "professional" tyre fitter. (I have the wheels off a lot more often than I change tyres.)

You should be able to find the studs at Oreillys, Pepboys or Autozone.

Norri, thank you for your help. Was able to send the pick over to my commercial rep over at Autozone and just got it this morning. Looks like it will work perfect and saved me some money.
