Okay I had a blow out and lost a wheel and cracked a rim. In any case does anyone have the full specifications for the replacement rims or alternatives.
My girlfriend had the same tread separation on our white XF while on the freeway. The tread passed her by.
Funny thing is that the sidewall protected the wheel and there was no damage at all.
After that, I took off the Continentals on both cars and went with a different brand. Were those Continentals? It seems they have an issue with that from my searches after it happened.
That's a Nevis rim, but it's not the stock "sparkle silver" and it looks like it's been after-market powder coated.
The rear Nevis is 20" (obviously!) x 9.5" ET +66, usually a few available on Fleabay, but they are all sparkle silver so you would need to get it coated to match the others.
I'd be willing to part with the full set of Nevis rims I have. Two are pristine chrome, refinished not long before I took them off. The other two need refinishing, but are otherwise in very good shape. You could have them stripped and painted as well. PM me if you are interested.
Any idea how it happened? Was it pothole that damaged rim and caused the blowout? Or did the tyre blow and rum cracked when it hit tarmac. Either way that looks like quite the damage...
As others have said you can get a rim but hard to know if it's bent (they bend easily).
Nice they gave you a new tyre but I'd be changing brands. And asking if they will pay for a new wheel too...
