2018 XJL 'best' price?
I'm in the market for a 2018/2019 and a dealer just gave me an offer of $75K (plus TTR) on a XJL with a sticker of $94K...I know the 2020 will be a completely different beast and they want to move these things. Is that a good deal? Thanks in advance for any advice.
ok so 125 views and no comments...Maybe you guys can give me an idea of where to look for an answer? Places like truecar dont seem to work for heavily discounted models like the XJ...Ideas? Many thanks!!!
It's 20% off so seems a good deal to me assuming you get the full warranty and so on, and also that you like the car - colour interior etc. These cars are not fast sellers so dealers are keen to shift them on. What was the trim level ? I had just parked my car in Sandbach and a guy was just leaving with his current XJ in a lovely red colour with light colour trim, so I asked him how he was getting on with the car - "I love it" he said. "totally marvellous". A good omen maybe for my next car !
Jagman, like Fraser says, what you are getting is a good deal as long as you are getting the warrantee with it. May want to ask whether it is getting the 36 month/36K mile warrantee or if it is getting the 4 yr/50K mile warrantee (or something of the like). You want to make sure you know what you are getting as jaguar has shifted back and forth with this warrantee and not all cars got the longer version. If the one you are getting is the supercharged 5.0L version, keep an eye on the water pump. If there is a weakness, that will be it. Not sure what the other motors may have as their weakness.
Is this the 575 special produced for the anniversary?.i assume its a My 2019 ie produced after August. If not it is last years model and by January will drop in value again. If it’s not the 575 it depends on the extras. The 575 was being sold at a very good price with all the extras .
Car Gurus and Carfax are good sites for price reference. About a year ago, there were some new 2016 3.0 Portfolios for sale by a Jag dealer in upper NY state priced in the mid 50s on the Carfax site. Probably had 90K stickers. They were zero mileage and had full warranties. Sorry I missed out on them.

One question to ask the dealer is the in service date as that is when the warranty clock starts. I say this as we have heard in the past from members buying "new" Jags that dealers will place the cars in service to get perks from the factory. So ask for the in service date.
I bought my F-Type new and XJL supercharged. Bot card I saved $30k plus. The F-Type was $113k and paid $81,500 and my XJL was $103k and paid $74,500. Both had 50 miles.
It’s called punching once they put the car into service. That happen more often at smaller dealer but that doesn’t necessarily mean the car won’t have the incentives if the haven’t. If they punch the car they typically have to sell the vehicle as used.
Great deals!!!!!!
You can't beat that deal. Enjoy driving that new vehicle "to the max."
