The color change on the center console from black to purple over time can be corrected by apply a high quality piano black. Apply to the center bezel as well as the center console to achieve a perfect match in color.

 

Is that vinyl or paint? Looks really good either way

 

Hi Meanbugga - on this occasion I had a paint shop apply a high quality gloss black paint. I did however apply vinyl to the chrome section of the center console to reduce glare from bright sunlight while driving. (can be removed latter if not required)

 

I definitely like the idea of using vinyl for this job when I need to do it. Paint can get scratched easily and it's a pain to repaint. Vinyl can easily be reapplied. With a heat gun, the vinyl would be easy to wrap around the corners.
