Hi,
I've a 2011 XJ 3.0D, that recently started leaking coolant.

In the picture below its leaking from the plastic part circled (not the pipe)

Anyone know what it is?

Tried to make and appointment with a mechanic buts its going to be the end of next week before he takes a look.

I don’t have the 3.0d (I have the 5L petrol), but it looks like the coolant expansion tank return hose. On mine, the connector on the hose started leaking. I would guess yours is also a leak at the connection. A new hose will have new connectors on it and should fix the problem. Again, that’s assuming a similar problem despite dissimilar engines. Apologies in advance if this does not pertain to your situation.

 

It was the thermostat housing that split. Small enough job thankfully.
