Need wiring diagram to locate a broken wire to the ambient air temperature sensor
I have confirmed I have a broken wire to the ambient air temperature sensor in the driver's side mirror on my wife's 2011 XJL. It is most likely broken where it flexes when the mirrors fold or where the harness goes through the door jamb. I need a wiring diagram to show where the wire goes before it attaches to any control. What I "hope" to do if I can't find the break is splice in the sensor where it is easiest to do and abandon the sensor in the mirror. I would locate the sensor as close as possible to outside air - like in the door cavity - and realize the temperature will be a little off but currently being open and registering -40 causes HVAC problems. Can anyone refer me to these diagrams or anyone in Columbia, SC who could trace the wire and do this repair?
Thank you! Page 20 and 38 show the sensor. Page 38 shows the wires from the sensor go straight to the ECU so it might be easy to wire a sensor to the ECU and abandon the broken wire and old sensor.
I GREATLY appreciate your sending me the wiring diagrams!

I can still page down and get what I need but I think it has changed which seems odd.
Any reason for that? Also is there a way to search the book of diagrams? For example a search for C31-D/6 or C1E116B/21. Or do you need to manually look in all the tables? Thanks again!
Here is a link to the X351 Electrical Guide if you cannot get the other one to load properly:

Thanks. I noticed "slight" differences in the two. I am sure this is a stupid question but how do I determine which one is for my wife's 2011 XJL? Is the number on the cover supposed to be part of the VIN?

I had the same broken wire issue and the Jag dealership spliced it while still under warrantee. I noted that the sensor always seemed to read significantly higher than actual outside temperature and had it replaced as well. The high temp reading remained an issue. I was told that the sensor in the mirror is aimed downward so that it senses the temperature of the surface of the street and as you'd expect black asphalt in the sun gets hotter than the air thus causing the erroneously high reading. I don't know if the dealership was B.S.ing me, but placing that sensor in a better place and position is a good idea if what I was told is true.
