Default Noise insulation and wind noise

Hello, 2016 XJL 3.0 owner here.
I feel that noise insulation has degraded with time, does changing door seals and rubbers help? and also i hear a lot of wind noise at 60mph and above coming from the mirrors i think, what are your thoughts on that?

Add some rubber care or dooe seal silicone to the door seals and in same go check that the seal are sitting bottom of their groove. They tend to slide out in time and then it dosent sit well against door frame. (not only XJ, but all vehicles)

Another source of wind noise on the X351 is from the windscreen moldings along the A posts if the windscreen has been replaced with a non OEM glass.

You can try putting masking tape on seams to pinpoint the source of the wind noise and then fix those areas.

The sound may not be wind, it could be coming from the tires by way of road noise. Check the inside tread of your front tires. If your inner tread is wearing in a “cupping” pattern, it will produce significant road noise. It will sound like wind though.

I’m experiencing this now. I bought brand new Michelin tires about 4 months ago and the ride was super quiet. I went on a 4 hour trip out of town last week and noticed that the same ”wind” sound upon my return. After looking at my tires, I noticed that they are wearing in a jagged or cupping like manner. I hear a lot of road noise now. I gotta figure out what’s the cause of the problem.

It’s worth giving your tires a check to validate or rule out irregular tire wear.

wow in only 4 months your tyres started wearing out visibly, mine were installed a year and a half ago and i do not like them , tread wear 500 so the rubber is hard which causes a harsh ride. As i said i hear the wind noise at high speeds coming from the mirrors but i will check what you mentioned anyway. Thanks!
