Looks like your brake booster vacuum pump. It is a common spot for an oil leak. The o-ring can be replaced or you can buy a new vacuum pump. I did the latter not knowing at the time that the gasket could be replaced.

All the best.

The oil leak at the vacuum pump is not causing your overheating. That is a common spot for a leak and and easy fix.

Your engine is all aluminum. Overheating will destroy it very quickly. You need to find the cause and remedy before you blow the head gasket.

I changed my thermostat and no more overheating issues and I ordered the seal for the vacuum pump but it’s on back order

Any chance you have a part number for the O-ring on the vacuum pump?

Maybe C2D3771(?)
I think I need one too, and did a quick search for a 2012 Jaguar XJ brake vacuum booster pump seal (and "kit" came up, to finish the search criteria)
