Default Rear-view mirror

I was recently gifted a 1998 XJ8 and the rear-view mirror looks like it has been burnt. Does anyone have a clear mirror they would be willing to part with?

There are a couple different versions of the mirror, depending on the car's configuration. There is a company that repairs them, it's posted somewhere here in related threads. I found it the other day and passed it along to pcolapacker and I believe he's sent his out to them to be repaired. The "burnt" look is from the fluid inside leaking...

You can leave the glass mount part along with the post and change out the internal parts splitting around the rim with a quarter in the sliding control gap , easy snap together like an old model airplane with no glue

There was some changes in the wiring between the years along with a different glass part to the post attachment clip ( hidden )

Give me a private mail to alert me for the details

In the worst case you can have a glass shop cut you a plain mirror to insert , good for inspection but not dimmable for night driving comfort
