Great result, but I have just bought an ELM327 from ebay, less than £10, it connects to an android phone with bluetooth and using Torque pro (supplied) or any of half a dozen free programs gives me lots of data and allows reset of warning lights. To be fair my service light is not on, having just had a main dealer service, so I cant be sure it turns it off, but for less than a tenner every owner should invest. The connection was easy and worked first time.

The oil leak is only a slow weep. I'm really not worried. My friends 2012 BMW had the same leak and only visible when the splash guards were removed. Her Indy caught it. Right before my cpo warranty expires, I will completely go over the car.

On the previous model XJ there was a combination of buttons to press in a certain sequence to reset the service indicator...

Surprised there isn't something similar on the X351...

I hope the British Diagnostics SDD will reset it, since it does much more in-depth functions like re-keying and such.

To be fair, I have read nothing on this thread so far that suggests the OP is taking pen to paper and causing the service book with the vehicle to have any kind of fraudulent entry. Also, I have heard no mention of the vehicle being sold, so the only person that needs to be concerned is the vehicle owner, whose responsibility it is to ensure the vehicle is correctly maintained.
