I installed HUD(HeadUp Display) today. To be exact, it is right to say that this is a secondary display rather than a HUD. Basic data is received through OBD. It shows various information such as speed, RPM, coolant temperature, etc. When I start the the engine, I can see the display. When I turn off the engine, it disappears. Power consumes very little. It is connected to navigation apps and shows useful information.
@Chuck77083
The name of the company is PONTUS, and it is Korean company. I'm not sure if it is being exported.
@carzaddict If it is not connected to navigation app, it shows datas from OBD. I can see the speed, fuel economy, etc. Actual motion isn't that different.
@thierry_1500 I can ask PONTUS if you want. 1. Whether to apply for English 2.whether exportable.
Do you know how to swap the dash instrument cluster out ?
I saw your thread. According to my memory, we can use SDD to change for speed unit. But... you have to correct speed, maybe. (I changed the average fuel economy unit using SDD.)
I love it! I had a similar idea but haven't started yet. Thank you for the inspiration.
you need to have SDD to change your speedo if that’s what you after im happy to help you get it done once you get that programs and interface cable I.e. mongoose cable. Don’t bother changing your speedometer itself it wont do anything.

This is the process to do that:
1. Start SDD and connect vehicle DA-Dongle or Mongoose cable (I used a modified Mongoose clone cable with success). Recommended to plug in your laptop and hook up a 50a 13.5v battery charger also, but I had a fully charged battery so I didn't bother. Don't attempt software updates without a charger, but small stuff like this is fine. 2. Enter "Service Functions" in SDD 3. Click the yellow key on the right to access Engineering Mode. 4. Put your seed into a seed calculator (available everywhere online, look around the forums and some guy wrote a Python script for it too) and be sure to click "CCF EDITOR" under Jaguar Functions before receiving the password. 5. Copy password and paste into SDD. Engineering mode is active when there is a yellow bar at the bottom of the SDD window. 6. Enter Service Functions: Special Applications: Car configuration management- Current vehicle car configuration modification 7. Wait for SDD to read your modules. Follow all prompts. 8. A VERY long list of available modification parameters will come up. I suggest not touching anything you aren't 100% sure of!! 9. Scroll slowly and find the parameter that says "Main scale units". This is the single field that controls your speedometer needle and dial. Below it is "minor scale units" which controls the small numerical display below the dial. I did not touch this. 10. Change from km/h to mph or whatever you want. 11. Change any other parameters you feel comfortable with. I suggest not touching anything you aren't 100% sure of!! 12. Click the green tick on the right of the SDD. 13. Confirm you want to "download" the new CCF to your car. "Download" is the correct terminology- the car itself is downloading new files from SDD to itself. 14. Follow any prompts that SDD gives you regarding turning on or off the ignition, etc. Be patient and cross your fingers. Your car will cycle itself on and off, make a few weird noises, and at some points go completely black. 15. Ignition will reboot one final time upon a successful download and you will be prompted in SDD to return to the main screen.
I have now improved the height and made it look better. By using a CarPlay AI Box, it connects automatically, and the HUD activates
Hi,
I had a try something similar some years ago. It worked for years but unfortunately the support was discontinued for my device (Kivic HUD , if I remember correctly it was Australian) .
as it showed data background
Please let me know if you still use this Pontus HUD. What is your experiences? May be you can post some new pictures wit the new config. And also if you have a link to this manufacturer or seller... of Pontus.
Thanks. Gab
