Default 04 XJR snow tire help

Hi guys,
Looking for snow tires for my XJR. I have been recommended Nokian's by a friend with a v12 BMW. I am wondering what the smallest size I can put on my factory 19" rims is. I would like to go with 235's if possible

Thanks

I have also an XJR with 19'' rims and I went with an 18'' Coventry wheel and 225-50R-18 Toyo Garrit KX winter tires.
I live in the Province of Quebec, Canada where snow and ice becomes a normal thing for at least four months and this combination is great.

I have put Nokian tires on wifes Subaru Impreza and they are great but very noisy.

I am looking for new snow tires for my wife's 2001 XJ8. Are the Toyo Garrit KX quiet and effective in the snow and ice. We live in CT USA. We are looking to replace the Michelin Ice all season tires. They are very good tires but a bit noisy.

If you go to Tirerack or the manufactures' websites they will tell the recommended rim width they will fit. The stock 04 XJR double 5 spoke is a 9" wide rim.

The Toyo Garrit KX are quiet, very effective and they have a good life potential. I'm at my second winter with these tires and I have nothing bad to say.

Does anyone know if an 18x8" rim will fit over the Brembo's? tirerack has a good package with 18" rims ut they are 8" width vs the stock XJR 8.5" width

That's a good question, find a wheel that will work with the Jaguar pattern and the Brembo's. This combination is hard to find and usually quite expensive. The best deal that I was able to find was to use 18'' Coventry wheels. Perfect deal and they are pretty nice wheels.

I bought a set of 18" XF rims, and put the stock OEM XJ8 tire size on them, P235/50-18. I am using Michelin X-Ice snow tires. They fit perfect, and look good on the car.......gives a nice smooth ride.

Are the stock double spoke rims 8.5" or 9" wide? Looking at buying some 225 45 19 snow tires, but widest rim they will mount to is 8.5".

According to the fitment guide, it looks like they are 8.5" wide.
