Default 50-51 Error Code - Navigation DVD Problems

Good evening guys and gals!
A good friend of mine has a 2005 XJR and purchased a DVD with the latest Nav.
Soon as he put it in...BAM. Screen blank -

I followed today all of the rules in this thread following a search....with even burning it at different speeds....and of course finalizing the dvd.

When I put the DVD in that I burnt, I cannot hear anything spinning inside...yet if I toss the old DVD in (the one that came with the car), you can hear it spinning. I am lost on what to do for the next step.
All fuses checked. Did the disconnect of the battery as well.
This is the thread I got the info from that I followed.
Thanks in advance -
SIXX

Hi Sixx Dogg,

I can't help you with your issue, but I revised the title of your thread to add the Nav DVD info so others with pertinent knowledge may be more likely to reply even if they don't know what 50-51 Error Code means.

Cheers,

Don

Good evening everyone.
Meiron1 - this was the same list of instructions that I included in my original post. But thank you.

Ok - so this is where I stand...so any help I will greatly be appreciated!

I have burned this file to DVD many times, at different speeds...closed session each time...also did it without closing the session. Burnt it with windows 10 - also Windows Vista. 3x Speed and 4x Speed. I insert the DVD - turn the car off. Pull out keys. Wait a couple min - start the car - put my ear to the DVD player and I hear nothing. Now if I remove the DVD - and put the original Nav DVD that came with the car, you can hear it spinning and trying to read loud and clear....eject it...toss in any of the ones I have done...no sound at all. I have done the disconnect of the battery as well...still nothing.
What else can I do? SUCH A PAIN! Thank you everyone.

Windows buildin software is -- weird. Try using ImgBurn. There is a "book type setting" - try setting it to DVD-Rom, instead of DVD-R or whatever is the default.

Also try different media DVD-R/DVD+R/CD etc. Don't try RW media - that does not work.

Where do I find that setting in ImgBurn? I am in it right now and cannot find it? Thank you.

I burnt it anyway using this software you suggested ...put the DVD in as the car was running... I heard it spin ...waited 3 min and BAM IT WORKED!!!
My friend was so happy.
Thank you so much.
