Sat Nav software reprogram file - for error 50 + 51 JTP 1072_1
Hi
SolidX had started this thread Blank Navigation screen
regarding his blank touch screen, a jaguar technician emailed some people the file that would reprogram the satnav (not the map dvd)
Would anyone have it that they could forward it on to me please as this is the only option i have left to try before trying to source another sat nav module?
I pressed the s/w button whilst in the diagnostic menu with no disc in theboot to update from, so i have a blank screen that will do nothing....
I have tried a new map disc in the sat nav unit and left the engin running for 1hr 10 mins last night but to no avail...
Any help in locating the .kwi file would be great...
I think Jaguar know the file as JTP 1072_1
Just for info, i can't get into the diagnostic menu now (holding down phone and menu)
If someone could tell me the other sequence of buttons to try to get into the screen, that would also be very helpful
regards

The Fix for the Jaguar GPS Touchscreen 50 51 Error
Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased an updated Jaguar GPS DVD from eBay and after a few attempts at installing it, I also go the 50 51 error. I like many of you called everyone and searched online for countless hours looking for a quick and inexpensive fix.
I decided to look through the updated DVD disk and simply extract the LOADING.KWI file and burn it to a regular DVD-R disk and put it into the unit, what's the worst that could happen.
After being quoted almost $4300 from Jaguar to fix the unit, and another $2100 from a Jaguar specialist. I am extremely happy to report that a $.15 DVD-R fixed my issue.
I am attaching the LOADING.KWI file to this post in case anyone else has this issue.
Simply extract the LOADING.KWI file from the ZIP file and burn it onto a REGULAR BLANK DVD-R at the slowest your DVD will allow, mine was 4x. Make sure that you "FINALIZE" the DVD (at least in my program that's what it's called).
I turned the car on to eject the DVD that was in the unit and inserted the DVD that I just burned with only the LOADING.KWI file.
I then turned the car off and took the key out for about 30 seconds and turned the car back on and left it on.
I went to go make myself a cup of coffee while leaving the car on and when I came back outside, my GPS unit had come back to life and everything was working perfectly.
I then ejected the DVD with the LOADING.KWI file and inserted my Old Navigation DVD.
I'm sorry for the long post but wanted to make it as detailed as possible.
Again, this fixed my 50 51 error.
Hope it helps
Andy

Welcome to the forum vdubelu,
If I understand the sequence correctly, you:
1. purchased a pirate navigation DVD on eBay
2. this disc scrambled your Nav system
3. burned the loader from the eBay disc to a blank DVD
4. used the burned DVD to re-install the loader in your Nav system
5. put the original Nav disc back in the vehicle
If this is correct, you are back exactly where you started before buying the eBay disc?
When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see.
In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Hello GGG,
Yes you are correct, I'm back where I started although the firmware was upgraded with the new LOADING.KWI file. Although my navigation disk is still out of date, I'm happy to have everything back up and working again.
