Adaptive Cruise Control Died/New FOB. Any connection??
2006 Super 8 problem: My Adaptive Cruise Control died yesterday immediately after having a new FOB successfully programmed at a local Auto Locksmith. ACC worked fine before FOB programming. Dead after. No alert indicators showing. Is there any connection between the two events? Or coincidence?

independentman;
Did you scan for codes and check fuses as abonano suggested?
If the ACC was working immediately before, and stopped working immediately after, your key fob was added; it is likely related. Did your locksmith connect a computer to add the fob or did you already have two fobs programmed and he used them to add the third? If he connected a computer, the "adaptive cruise button by mistake..." mentioned in the other post could be a s/w option.
Scan for codes and check fuses first.

I gave him my existing fob. He programmed a new one & cut the key. Regrettably, I'm unfamiliar with scanning codes. I'm sure I can find the fuses. The locksmith assures me he had nothing to do with the ACC except to perhaps mistakenly push master ACC button off while programming the fob. Assuming this button has to be on before the switches on the steering wheel operates. I'm not getting any dash lights indicating malfunction.

"The joys of owning a Jaguar!"
I had a 'gremlin' experience with my 04XJR this morning... I haven't driven it for 8 days and last night temps dropped below freezing for the first time this season (Dallas, TX). It started and ran fine but I had no response to the VACM/Bluetooth phone button. Hoping it was possibly battery charge or temp related I drove it to work without any other problems. After letting it sit for 30 min I re-started it and everything returned to normal.
I think the switch you are referring to is for silencing the forward alert (which is an ASCM function) but I didn't think it switched operation of the adaptive speed control.
Happy to hear things got straightened out!
