There are NO LWB 2004 (first North American MY) X350 sedans, just as there are NO 1995 (first North American MY) LWB X300 sedans.(VDP)
First MY manufacture seem to concentrate on SWB introductions.
Jaguar sedan LWB began in 1974. (North American MY introduction)
All later MY sedans after first year production for the VDP or Super V8 are LWB.
Can't seem to find a correct answer for this question. Not an x358 but an x350 only is my concern. Thanks...
Hi viper1996,
I realize this is a USA based forum, but Jaguars are made for many different markets. The US market gets a portion of the production, and the cars it gets are based on what management think will sell best.
The x350 cars were initially SWB in 2003, but from 2005 on, both SWB and LWB were manufactured. Generally most x350 Super V8s and VDPs for the US market were LWB. The XJR was obviously SWB. In other markets SWB and LWB cars were marketed for most trim and engine specifications. For European and Asian markets, the SWB Super V8 was indeed produced.
The only real answer is to look at a car's VIN number and decode it. That specifies the market country, wheelbase, engine and trim level.
For 2008 Jaguar didn't seem to have the Super V8 as a listed model, but I have one, as do other owners. Jaguar would produce a car to virtually any specification if that was what the customer really wanted. The spec was just put into a digital file, which drove the largely computer-controlled construction process.
The Wikipedia entry for x350 is quite informative too.
In the US yes, all Super V8 cars are LWB. If its supercharged and not LWB its an XJR.
Never knew you could get a Super in SWB as @Pete M said but I guess anythings possible in other markets. I thought by definition the Super was a LWB XJR for the most part.
Great thanks I am looking at a 2005 Super V8 Vanden Plas and to me it appears to be standard wheelbase...So basically it's an XJR with more bells and whistles!

Sure its not a long wheelbase? I'm nto expert by any means, but in the US I don't think you can get a supercharged short wheelbase car that is not an XJR. I've been wrong before though...Have any pictures?
I have noticed this is quite an old thread dating back to 2015. Regardless, I have enjoyed the heck out of reading it! Many, if not most, comments were about the 2006 Portfolio which was, I believe, the original. But there were also 2009 Portfolio (x358). I just turned over 60k on my Astral Gold Port. Very complex and comfortable car that delivers many smiles to the gallon.
