Default Headlight ballast replacement.....done

1.5 hour job. Not bad at all. I must have saved at least $800 or so doing it myself.

Cheers!

Hi VinnyT,

Just for the sake of clarity, was it the HVAC blower motor ballast circuit, an HID headlamp ballast, or some other ballast that you replaced?

Thanks!

Don

I can do a pic/write up instruction for this. Anything to help us owners save a few bucks...

Any joy with that write up/pics as I am shortly going to be needing to change mine I think. Did you replace the ballast because of flickering headlights?

Yes, the flickering started before it went out. When I pulled the old ballast, it has a coating on corrosion all over it. Seems to get a lot of moisture in there.

I will do a write up this weekend with pics. Really not a bad job at all.

Replacement ballast part number? where did you obtain the replacement part? I have a 2004 XJR and believe I need to replace a ballast due to flickering. I have seen some locations that rebuild these units as well
