Turns out NZ-New had factory-installed leapers, but mine is a Jap Import and it seems the Japs have no more class than... their other cars.
Actually I do have one, but it's uninstalled. Trouble is, I only have to think of drilling holes in the bonnet,and my arm attempts to strangle me like Dr Strangelove.
(it's actually the wrong leaper base for this car, but never mind) Consolation small leaper from EBay.

P.S. do you know how sloped the front of the bonnet is? It took me forever to get them to stay! Or Turtle Wax is good.
