Default Cannot Walk Away Without Looking Back!

Dear Forum,

I am very sure that I am not alone when I say that I am incapable of parking my Jaguar and walking away without looking back?

Jaguar purists often say that compared to (say) the X308, or (some of my favouites, the Series 3 or the X300) ) our X350's are 'dumpy'. For me, my long wheelbase XJ350 looks every bit as low, long and sleek as an X308, but has superior headroom, increased boot space and its lightweight aluminium construction yields rapid performance and better fuel economy?

Obviously I am extremely biased, but I love the Radiance Red (1975) colour of my Jaguar because it is the colour I associate with Jaguar XJ's in my younger years?

I always looked back when I parked my Jaguar Mark 2, my Jaguar XJ6 Series 3, my Rover 75, and my XJ6 Sport (X35). The Rover was just like having my M\ark 2 backa again with its external chrome, and internal wood dash and "retro" design.

I am “Jonesing” for my dear departed 2006 VDP in Radiance Pearl. Sob, sob. Totaled by a rotten pine that fell on it in my townhouse parking lot 2.5 years ago. I replaced it with a very low mileage quartz/charcoal ‘03 VDP, but they are entirely different beasts. Lighter, more efficient, more space, a bit easier to enter and exit for an older person, and in my mind every bit as beautiful a beast.

Yours is a beaut.

I am also guilty of this. Also with my motorcycles, but it's not a issue with regular vehicles.

Very nice color on your Jag @EsRay I am definitely guilty of looking at mine every time I park it and walk away. Mine is boring Liquid Silver and I still can't help it

I owned 3 x308s before my 350 and after living with this car daily for the past 4 months i can honestly sya there is no comparison, I may never own a 308 again. Its such a better vehicle overall and I honestly think they look better. I like seeing 308s on the road (which is rarely these days), but they look very dated to me at this point. I think the 04-07 XJs are some of the most beautiful Jags ever made. So simple, but so elegant at the same time.

In the 80’s I liked the understated but classy look of the Mercedes S- Class and I think the X350 exudes understated class!

Am also guilty of this Ray.
But never dreamed of owning one.
With the less than dependable Lucas electronics.
Learned from my 750 Triumph Tiger
Ford made the electronics dependable.

I don't think you 'll find a x350 owner that has never looked back. The other night as the light hit it just right, approaching my Indigo Blue 06 SV-8 stopped me dead in my tracks. BOOM, "I own that?"

I always look back to enjoy my Jynxie... Zircon and Ivory. X300 was to "tight" for me.... X350 does the job perfectly. Not as bulby as a S550, just the right dimension.

Wasn't looking at mine, at the right time, the other day.
Some P O S stole the Badge, on the Radiator's Grill.
Rather pricy part # C2C25678 at $75.68 retail,
Very thankful for my motorcycle shop discount.

There is no way to resist the urge to look back at such a magnificent work of art on wheels. “They don’t make them like they used to” is a severe understatement.

Happy New Year to you all.

I totally agree EsRay. I had to part with my Zircon Blue X350 a little while ago and miss it terribly. It got admiring looks wherever I drove it.

Fraser - I too used to have a Rover 75 and that was a wonderful car and I often got comments from people mistaking it for a Jaguar.
