Catalytic converter
It seems I need to buy new catalytic converters.
do you guys know where to buy reasonable ones?
main car part dealers here don’t have it in their catalogue.
i live in Estonian, but can order online I guess too.

It gives p0420 and p0430 after several days when clearing. And also much white vapor/smoke when accelerating strongly.
now is very humid also in Estonia.
so the shop checked them and there is some whitish substance also.
their diagnose was that they are not done yet but probably will go after some time.

The error codes could have multiple sources. Has the shop checked the up- and downstream oxygen sensors?
What mileage has your car? As JagV8 stated, the cats normally are quite robust. I have not yet had to replace a cat on one of my cars due to the cat going bad.
The exception was my Super V8, but with a different reason: I had the P0430 code with my car soon after I bought it, which was finally solved with a new cat. But in my case, I had the code because someone had opened the cat and had removed all innards! Imagine my surprise...
Curiosly enough, the had passed the MOT, incl. the exhaust fumes test, twice before I finally discovered the empty cat. It seem that by chance the tst statino always put the measuring sond into the right hand exhaust, which always worked fine.
I have found this on the net:
C2C41598 Late V8 RH Catalyst converter, JagParts
And here you can find the part numbers you would need:

Best reagrds,
Thomas

I bought it 2 months ago and now trying to get most problematic things fixed.
this code started from the beginning and I also hoped that it is o2 sensors but shop says otherwise.
anyway I have time to see how it goes.
I have 143k km mileage.
But this whitish substance? Has anyone comments on that?

Hi Gert,
If your country has strict emission testing regulations, you may need to replace the catalytic converter. This is the case for my friend Thomas, in Germany.
If your rules are more relaxed, then I mentioned in a previous post that I cured my P0420 and P0430 codes by fitting right-angle downstream sensor extenders.
There is no actual emission measuring testing here, so it was an economical solution.
