Disk Installed is not a Map CD ???
Hi all,
I've done a google search and also tried to find information here for a solution. Unfortunately, the best suggestion I can find for the error message:
Disk Installed is not a Map CD
is to replace the GPS disk in the boot. While not having a GPS is really not an issue, I was hoping to know a better solution to getting the reader to read the disk I have (actually have tried two) without buying a replacement.
Does anyone know a workaround or is the reader kaput?
Thank you!

I've gotten that message a few times. Usually it works ok the next time I start the car. I never put the OEM disc in the drive. I make a copy and use that. If it gives me that message more than once or twice I just burn a new disc.
I recently purchased a 2005 Super V8. I was getting the same message on my nav screen. I popped out the DVD map disc and cleaned it. It now works like a champ! My first modification will be to upgrade the map disk to a more current edition.
Cheers!

I had the same problem and then purchased a DVD/CD cleaner disc. I was very skeptical but so far so good. The disc I purchased has 5 little brushes on it, it had instructions to play it and follow the instructions but since our systems do not work like that I just inserted it and let it run for a couple of minutes. It has been two days now and the system has not shown any symptoms, such as slow loading or the not a map DVD message, it has also improved the performance (speed) of the system.
