Which makes the used unit I purchased likely to be as good/bad a my original?

I will install it and find out anyway.

I'm sure restoration might be an option if the right person/shop is located. My old unit worked intermittently, then even less.

For me the tell tale sign was the burnt smell when the unit case was opened.

Default Disc Jammed

Ok so I installed this "new" Nav unit I purchased on Ebay for $45. I noticed that it is about 14 months "younger" than my original unit with a different part number.

So was a little worried it might not operate.

I also wondered if it had a disc in it as the unit was simply cut from all linked wires etc.

It did have a disc in it and it was jammed.

So removed disc and re-installed the unit and cleaned it with a head cleaner.

Put in the disc that was in it and it worked.

From the part number on the disc it is a USA/Canada 2005 disc.

Will button everything up and put my 2012 disc in after trying a couple of copies I made a while back.

So none of the copies worked.

I put my 2012 disc in and initially it did not work however after a minute it started updating the software which took maybe 10 minutes and now it works.

Tried a couple of the copies just in case and no go.

Both NAV DVD players that I have now are labeled as Denso but different part numbers.

The DVD I have is for 2011-2012, and that is on the DVD label, which is the last year they were made. It has both a Jaguar part number as well as a Denso part number.

The DVD that was in the unit I purchased has both a Denso and Jaguar part number and the 2005 date I got from looking up that part number as the DVD itself has no date label on it.

What part numbers do you have for the 2012 Nav disc?

Glad the reader worked out for you.

You can get it here for $99 which is better than the $200 which Jaguar wants:
