First the good news
The Indicator Cancelling Cassette arrived yesterday from the UK, and today I attacked the steering wheel and associated bits to extract the faulty unit (the indicators were not always cancelling after a turn). The job went quite easily until replacing the column covers and putting the fixing screws back in place. Certainly a bit of a tricky job as I am not as flexible as I once was (78 now), anyway after a bit of colourful language (e.g. "Golly Gosh this is a bit hard" and other explosives in a similar vain) the job was finished and successful. The indicators now cancelling in a proper manner. One more job ticked off.

Good on you Bob! I whinge on about my aches and pains and how hard it is to work under a car these days (or a dashboard) but I'm "only" 61. To follow your example I will endeavor to complain less and just get on with caring for my lovely (and potent) old Jag.
