Can someone send me a download for the ids v118.5 so I can reprogram my transponder key on my 98-04 Jaguar xj8 and xtype if possible? I have the jlr mongoose j2534 cable, I just need the software to recover and reprogram key 🔑

 

I too would be interested in this software. I haven’t found a good source for it as of yet. Never thought of just asking on here. Great idea!

That is a great site that I have not found on my own yet however, my car, and I assume the OP’s, are older than 05 so we are in need of IDS. Not sure if SDD will do what either of us are looking to do. However I found a dealer a few hours away that says they can help me with my issue. Hopefully this will help others and I may still get SDD at some point. Just looking more for the older IDS at the moment. Thanks for the link! Hopefully you don’t get in trouble.

 

While there is no reliable/trusted information is available for wider consumption, I am under impression that SDD is capable to do everything IDS does as SDD is an advancement from IDS. With limited experience I have with mine set up, I need to change a power supply., I was able to access successfully many different functions.

Using an earlier version of SDD (i.e. v130), if the car is not supported by SDD it will switch to legacy IDS automatically. I use this SDD version on my 02 STR.

 

IDS will NOT work with a MONGOOSE type communication device.
Jaguar made SDD125 onward compatible with the generic J2534.
All IDS/SDD software up to SDD124 need a Rotunda VCM.
Early versions of SDD will REVERT to Legacy IDS for certain functions and older cars.
Please read TSB 1-242NAS2 for clarification.

 

Do you know where I can find SDD v163 and up to work with the generic Mongoose J2534? Previously I used v164 and the Chinese cracked patch, but that is no longer there. I need to read error codes to diagnose a MAF sensor issue but the dealer level software is most informative.

 

ideally I am looking for a patch for version 169 which is now on Topix. But any version would work for me.
