Default injector replacement 2004 XJR - supercharger removal?

My 2004 Xjr has a bad injector (cylinder 7 i believe), My mechanic says he has to remove the supercharger to do this, so it's $2100 just for the one. He's a Jag guy but I am still it bit skeptical. It's $3500 for the set - the car, which is great otherwise has 119k on it. Who is knowledgable? Thanks in advance. David Q

According to my workshop manual you have to remove the charge coolers to remove the injectors. So yes you would have to remove the SC to remove the charge coolers to remove the injectors.

I would want to make absolutely sure the injector was bad before going ahead. Not just blocked.

If you have codes, post them. If not, how has it been diagnosed?

Not sure I'd want to rely on memory.

Could well be the circuit as it says. Painful to replace injector if it isn't the inj!

injector and or coil circuit failure codes are almost ALWAYS electrical failure of the component. you can use a scope to confirm the driver in the ecu is not the problem but past that you cant check the wiring to the injector unless, yeah, you pull the sc. If it where me I would at least replace that one and have the rest cleaned sonicly by a company like www.injectorrx.com.
youll need all new gaskets, a correctly sized o ring for the brake booster vacuum line in the throttle body elbow that always leak vacuum and cause p0171, p0174, plus a couple vacuum plastic lines and the heater hose under the sc that leaks and will require the sc removal later if you don't do it now. Now would be a nice time to put a smller sc pulley on too for 3psi more boost and boost that comes in sooner since the snout has to be machined to fit it.
