Default Lock with engine running

2005 vdp, 90 degrees temps here wanting to pop into a store and leave engine running for few minutes with ac running.

My three other vehicles this is not a problem but the jag thinks you have a screw loose and are going to lock the keys in the car.

I use the valet key and have fob in pocket and on a hot day it doesn't take long for the inside and seats get really hot.

Is there anyway to fool the system so you can leave the engine running while locked?

Any suggestions.

I have sympathy for you. I once drove a rental in Arizona and kept the engine running when I got out.
(Spoiler: A Toyota Corolla with full aircon doesn't go very fast.)
I have re-read the Owner's Handbook Vehicle Security section and have I got news for you. No.

You could leave The Missus or a Rottweiler in the car. With a bit of foresight they could be the same thing.
You could get an XJR. Why? Because you wouldn't have to spend so long in a hot car.
You could buy an ice pack at this store, and sit on it.
I'm clean out of ideas. Unless SDD can disable something.

Does your car have cooled seats? (buttons on the centre dash) Mine does, but they don't cool (tested with a temperature gun), although I have seen statements and diagrams that they do or should have Peltier units.

Having a second key, to physically lock, & unlock the door, works for me.

On my 06 s type i use the main fob key for running the car and the valet for locking using the outside door lock. Two keys but it works nicely. Dont know if your car has the same setup

Agreed, any key it's just the remote doesn't work.
That was exciting. Put the window down for "safety" but key in the lock wound the window up anyway! I've calmed down a bit now.

Thanks everyone, that worked for me having the second key. Just pocked the Valet key and now nice warm car when freezing out side.
Many thanks...
