Default LOL, us newbies....

Well, I've had the Jag for 4 days now. Learning all of the gadgets, gizmos, nuances, etc. However, I felt the performance was ok at best. I changed the plugs with NGK Iridiums Sunday. Ran a little smoother but still the power was just ok. I decided to adjust the seat, steering wheel for comfort. Finally, the pedals.

Well, the last owner had them all the way to the floor. After bringing them up and adjusting the seat/wheel I took her for a spin. Holy crap! Hello! There is that power! Seems that the pedal was not functioning properly due to the bracket being mashed into the floorboard. Wow, what a difference. I loved the car before, but REALLY love it now!

LOL, still learning...

Ha, that's a new one on me. Talking about a rev limiter! Glad you discovered the joy of hammer down in the XJ. Our oldest son couldn't believe mom's Jag spanked his Mustang.

SaturnV,

Sometimes we just have to put our kids in their place!

Cheers,

It really was odd. It never felt right driving it home from the dealer. It felt like the carpet was bunched up under the pedal or something. Then of course I discovered the whole pedal assembly was fully maxed to the floor.

The acceleration from 40 to 80 is amazing....

A whole different experience than my 98 Corvette that is for sure. I knew there was power in the cat but the pedal issue I described in this thread soured the drive a bit. However I loved the car so it was coming home with me. After I realized the pedal problem, it was like a whole new car. I swear this thing is faster than the Vette and MUCH more refined. I love the feeling of your body being mushed into the seat and you give it throttle. Didn't really have that with the Vette.

I changed the plugs myself Sunday to get to know the engine better. Original plugs looked good but I still put in new Iridiums. Those should last a while.

Overall, this thing's a beast and I'm glad I got it!!
