The covers are not supposed to come off, just use a socket that fits nice and tight.
The jag nuts with stainless caps are NBG many of us have replaced them all.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Toyota lug nuts when you do get yours off, are what many of us use.

give these a try

I would try #3 method first. If you have to cut off the stainless cap, be careful as the number one problem with chiseling, is damage to the wheel.

Try using a socket that is so tight that you have to knock it on with a hammer.

The socket does not need to go all the way on just enough to get a good grip.

After you remove the nut cut off the stainless cover which will be damaged and just use the steel nut

until you can replace the whole lot.

I changed mine for Toyota wheel nuts, got them off Ebay for £40, Item number, 132618389723
The listing says they are for a Toyota Picnic, and lists the manufacturer part number as 20JPOENM10205. Thread pitch M12x1.5, and head hex size 21mm

Removal of these capped nuts needs a hexagonal socket, not the usual 12-sided one. It's a 19mm and there are lots of these wheel nut sockets around. I bought mine at the local motor factor.

This is mine and it worked a treat after I tried the usual 12 sided, which rounded the corners.

Just remember to pick up the correct sized lug wrench too from a boneyard and throw it in your trunk.
