Default Mirror dimming--2005 xj8

Inside rear view mirror and drivers door mirror working fine. Passenger door mirror full time on dimming (beige screen on lower 90%). Is it fed electrically from rear view mirror or self contained sensor? Cure?

ronrowand;

The MY04 Electrical manual ( Fig. 10.2) shows a common (parallel) electrical signal for both driver & passenger door mirror dimming. Interesting enough I could not locate the interior rear view mirror in the electrical manual so I do not know if it shares the electrochromic signal with the side mirrors. The REM sends an input to an electrochromic module (driver circuit) which powers the electrochromic function for the side mirrors. My assumption is the MY05 is wired the same.

Best Regards, William
