Default P0483

I was driving slow in a parking lot and thought I heard the blower fan kick down a speed by its self and started blowing warm air. As soon as I pulled out on the street and sped up it started blowing cold air again. I mean started blowing cold again in 15 seconds as i sped up and worked fine all the way home. The next day on my way to work I was stopped at a long light and it did it again, blower kicked down a speed and started blowing warm again. When the light changed and by the time I got thru the intersection it was blowing cold again and was fine the rest of the way to work and was fine all the way home.
This morning I took the car for a ride to get it to working temp then pulled into the garage and let it idle. In just a minutes it started blowing warm again so I increased the rpms in neutral to 2000 and held it there for a couple of minutes but it kept blowing warm. Looking under the bonnet I noticed the coolant fan was running slow and not at a constant speed. I pulled back out of the garage and as as soon as I pulled away from the house it started blowing cold again. I drove around the block and pulled back into the garage and popped the bonnet. The coolant fan was turning like it is suppose to do. I let it idle for twenty minutes and all stayed running right and blowing cold air. With the engine off the blades turn easily and smoothly by hand. It did set a P0483 code that deals with the coolant fan. I have a feeling it is something other then the obvious coolant fan going bad. Any thoughts?

Error Code P0483 is defined as Cooling Fan Rationality Check Malfunction. This means there’s a voltage reading that shows the cooling fan is not responding; even when it is commanded to turn on or off.

Sounds like your cooling fan motor is bad or going bad. Would not take any chances driving the car around with this condition in summer.
