Radio noise when rear screen heater is on

Radio noise when rear screen heater is on
I have a varying hissing noise when the rear screen is on together with the radio. Once the screen heater turns off it disappears. I believe the radio antenna is on the rear screen or even uses the screen heater wires.
Anybody had this ? If so what was the cure ?

Hi Mitchell, Did you solve this issue? And is the solution in the trans unit? I seem to have the same thing. Strange thing is that it seems more frequent when cold. And it disappears if I slow down to below 10 mph. But if I speed up, it does not even disappear when I switch off the rear screen heating. Also, when this noise is present, some radio stations will be disturbed, others will not be available at all. This is consistent. I'm guessing loose contact in the antenna or antenna connection, but don't know where to start. Pls, someone, point me into the right direction.

Hi Fraser,
I have exactly the same problem and I still haven't found a fix. It is strange on mine as it seems to do it intermittently and often when the whether is damp and not just cold.
I have a ground check tool that I used to check the antenna wire in the rear windscreen. I couldn't find any problems with the connection through the rear screen so I'm thinking it's something else.
Its one of those problems that does not exist when you have all the tools ready to test !!
I'd be interested to know if you ever find the cause. I'm wondering if mine is a ground problem somewhere that is caused when the weather is cold and damp.
Thanks,
Chris

Back with 60's cars some spark plug wires would cause static type noises on the radio.
Faster as well as louder as the motor r p m's increased.
Forget exactly what was done, seems kind of noise resistant wire was what we used.
Happened with a major tune up, points, plugs, plug wires, rotor, cap, with condenser.
Old time tune up, dwell, timing, whole nine yards.
