Default Rattle in the dash

I have had a mech look at my Jag and he found that the noise
is around the wiper motor to the cabin filter area but inside the dash.

I have also found just two reports describing a connection between
the frame of the dash at the point where the dash meets the fire wall.
This connection is a metal strip and the dash frame is bolted to it.

Apparently the bolts/nuts can become loose and particularly when driving over
bumps the whole of the dash in that area is moving up and down
and rattling.
The only solution AFIK is complete removal of the dash to access the bolts.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone with knowledge of this problem
Thanks in advance.
Bob

Pardon my thick skull, but it is not clear to me what is the question?
A) What could the noise be?
B) How to get to the firewall bolts?

Hey Bob,
Hope you're doing well!
I chased a dash rattle last year to no avail. Drove me crazy, until my sweetheart lowered her sunshade and removed the rattling garage door opener. I had been convinced somehow that the rattle was inside the dash. Stuffed the remote with foam and everything once again serene...

I know what it is like to be convinced but wrong!
Recently I was convinced that I had been scammed of $40k
Fortunately I was mistaken.
Now I can sleep again!

I know the feeling!
Had guests other night, after they left I could not find few pieces of heirloom silverware. My wife and I were pissed! Later that night found stolen pieces misplaced. Yes, I was wrong! Nevertheless bad taste remains!

Have you ruled out a worn universal joint in the steering column? Because that will rattle.
