Default remove/replace stainless steel ext door handle cover

Need to replace the stainless steel cover that covers the outside front drivers side door handle. Intend to show this 2006 xjr and the cover is badly scratched. Ordered the part, c2c22592 for about $100. I can cut the old one off. How is the new one attached? Thanks.

I don't think you need to cut it off.
I'll do the research.

I believe the Chrome finishers are glue on.
Not 100% sure.
Here's an eBay link to the ones from Welsh.
Same thing?

That cover is for an XK8, not a x350.

Getting the handle off is the easy part. Getting to it is a lot of tedious work.
Look in the factory manual 501-14 (76.58.07).
I would have to look at it apart to get a better idea on step #6. When you get there you'll know.
