Replacement Crankshaft damper/pulley
Hi, my 2005 XJR engine was just dropped to track down a slow oil leak. While the mechanic was doing this, he noticed that the main crankshaft damper / pulley was starting the delaminate with bits of the damping material coming off. I just wrote to SNG Barrett for a replacement unit and to to my horror, they replied that this is no longer available. I also searched through the web-site, and only found one past post about a damper giving way causing vibrations. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement or what is the best way to repair the damper / pulley? Does the one from 4.2 non supercharged or the newer 5L supercharged V8's fit? Any suggestions on how the solve the problem would be greatly appreciated. I have the part number as AJ89979 from my old JTIS. Thanks very much.

When I got the replacement engine for mine from a junkyard (ebay), it came with the crank pulley. Im sure they can be found on there.
AJ811116 has 1 pulley and AJ811117 has 2

Thanks for your suggestion but I'm concerned that all those in the scrap yards are just as old so I expect that they will also delaminate soon, which is why I'm looking for a new one if possible. A rebuild is another option. I was just shocked that such an item isn't available any more according to SNG Barrett. If someone makes a lightweight high performance unit, I would also consider that since the original is so difficult to find.
Thanks for the information. Do you happen to have their have their contact e-mail or web-site so that I can contact them?
Thanks for clarifying. This will help us not to mix up the two different units.
