Default Sat in the new XJ today !

I had to go the the dealers to get a second key today, (I only got one when I bought the car).
So while I waited I had a look round the showroom. There were two of the new XJs in, one petrol, one diesel.

I have to say I really liked the new style, similar to the XF, but the front is better with the more prominent grill. Inside is sublime, but it is strange not seeing any instruments in front on you. The 'leaper' is displayed until the ignition is turned on. I have to say, though, that the steering wheel is getting a bit crowded with switches, and then there are paddles to manually change gear. I would think most people will find the auto box responsive enough.

At £55,000 I will have to wait a while until depreciation has taken its toll. I also sat in an XK convertible. Now that is a lovely car, of there's only two of you.

I like new XJ over X350s too aside from two round air vents , they totally ruin the interior but that's my humble opinion

Hi Cadillac. Yes you're right about the central dash air vents. They look a bit like the nostrils of a hippopotamus ! Still a lovely car, though.

we drove the new XJ when our local Jag club visited the Jag dealer at Stockton-On-Tees the other week
The 3.0d I drove is fantastic, quick, quiet, comfortable, spacious, and all the toys.
Here are some clickable thumbs from the day...

I had a chance to drive the new one in march and snapped a couple of pics. I was really against this car at first before seeing it in person.. but after a little one on one time, I think it's won me over. I like the looks of the <X350 better, but it's nice. The ride is amazing, and power delivery was smooth as silk. I thought I made a thread on this earlier in the year but can't recall for sure. Either way, enjoy.

Thanks for the pics , much appreciated . I hope if they make a Daimler aka VDP version for it, they make grill inserts such as X300 , X308 or XJ40 .I ain't keen on the mesh grill but everyone has a different opinion
