Default Tranny sprung a leak.

So moved my XJR out of the garage today and crap there is a big puddle of oil under the car! Had just done an oil change 2 weeks ago so my first thought was dam I thought I checked for leaks long enough! Thought ok so the Plug or the filter are leaking and running down the under shield so has taken a while to drip down. But that puddle is too far back to be coming off the shield sure enough it's tranny fluid an a lot of it. O well I was doing a filter change this year anyway so better get on to CTSC and order the parts inc electrical sleeve.

Hmm, a sudden big leak is indicative of damage, not deterioration of seals. Anything happen recently while you were out and about ?

Nope car has not been out of the garage, when Ronnie was in 4 weeks ago having my anti roll bar bushings replaced the jag mech I know very well said and showed me that a leak had started but i thought I would get 1000 at least before it increased. O well I knew I had to get it done 94000 and it has not been done so not bad really as Tranny shifts well with no faults been under and def no damage leak is at the electrical sleeve and gasket.

Mine did it rather suddenly a year or so ago, it was just the pan/pan gasket, which are replaced as an assembly. No more leaks now.

$350?

Could have saved $100
Oil change kit for 6HP26/28/32
I was really pleased with the customer service here as well.

I just did this a couple of weekends ago. Watched a video someone posted on Youtube from the XK8 forum.

Cool! Yes, I guess I got all of that as well. I actually got the electrical sleeve from the local dealer (for $18!!) since I forgot to add it when I ordered.

Actually, I ordered the 19/21 pan based on the link from the XK8 forum by accident, and Klaus was kind enough to let me exchange it for the right pan. (I paid shipping, of course, since it was my fault).

so, I got to do two oil changes. I was pretty good the second time around.

So tranny service done seal and sleeve completely shot, during work was shown that the trans cooler lines are leaking at the crimps so looks like I am not there quite yet $150-$200 parts but cost of instal $800 as the routing is really crap and loads of stuff has to be removed to get these on. O well I had nothing better to spend my money on anyway as no longer own a boat. I suppose I could always transfer what I used to say about the boat and change it around to, the definition of Jag is a big metal box on the driveway you pour money into! Crap we own 2 of those.
