The Ultimate X350\358
I've been doing quite a bit of reading on here of recent, I was quite surprised at the number of us doing upgrades\projects to what is - in its standard form, a great car. Got me thinking - what is the ultimate X350?
This is my vision of my ultimate XJ, and where i'm taking my X350 in the coming years - of course this will probably differ wildly to some of you - depending on your point of view, and what you do with your car, but hey, each to his own.
My ultimate XJ - Exterior
Colour - Black Cherry
Wheels - Arden Sportline 21"
Ride height - lowered stance
Front end - Daytime LED run lights in 358 bumper
Front end - Portfolio Wings and Vents
Front end - 358 grille modified with new XJR badge
Chrome Wing mirror covers
Rear End - Wald Rear Bumper
Rear End - Arden Boot Spoiler
Rear End - 358 rear Chrome boot strip modified with new Jaguar logo and re-engineered from polished alloy
Interior
Door Sills - modified with new Jaguar logo
Interior Trim - Ivory piped in Black, with rear entertainment and Black Carpets
Interior Trim - Picnic Tables
Interior Trim - Rear Individal seats
Interior Trim - Woodwork reveneered in American Black Walnut - Satin
Interior Trim - Door Tops in Black Alacantara
Portfolio Gear Surround
Headlining - Alacantara
2009 XJ Gear Knob
Audio - ACM
Mechanicals
Brakes - Uprated X drilled\grooved
Brakes - Painted Calipers
Brakes - Red Stuff Pads
Intake Pipe
Cat-back exhaust
Painted Calipers
LPG conversion
If I could get all these bits done I'd be very happy with the resulting car. Im already thinking that I will probably keep my X350 for many years to come having converted it to an X358 and spent the money on the LPG conversion.
Q the negative upgrade responses...

Sounds like a nice project. Something to keep you busy with on a Sunday afternoon after the roast dinner :-) I like the LPG conversion but have not seen any LPG service providers out here in Texas to make it a viable option, I know the UK is different in that respect.
If you want to go further with the brakes, you should know that the Alcon package from the XKR is basically a bolt-on kit. 400mm front rotors with 6-piston calipers, 350mm rears with 4-piston calipers.
I know a bloke selling the full system from a wrecked XKR-S if you're keen.
And I can help out with the 21" Arden Sportlines

Surprised you've not sold the wheels yet.. PM me what you want for them, would think the shipping will make it prohibitive..?
BTW, re your mail... no I was sniped
If your doing the exhaust consider doing the cats as well as they will be in some state of blockage depending on the miles.
I went for 100 cell ones which negates the issues and is very close to no cats at all but if you have a smog test to pass go for 200 cell units
Cheers

And me apart from those unsightly vents in the front wings i think the spoil the beauty of an amazing car and cheapens the looks ,same with the Range Rover... mind this is just an "Old Farts opinion"
