Looks like an add-on.

Can't tell the size but looks like it would take a card / disc of some sort.

If it's wired in I hope they didn't f*ck up the job and cause on-going battery drain / network problems!

Default Size

It's about the size of a cigarette packet and does like it would accprt a card or disc. Re: Add-on - it looks like a Jaguar Slot/Hole in dash because it's fiished with the correct colour and style of surround - very curios.
No noticed any battery drain but some of the electrics don't seem to work. It's due into local Indy Specialist in a coule of weeks. Think I'll ask then if they flatten all settings and statrt again.

It's something to do with Japanese toll roads or the like, and the source of that annoying Japanese female voice if she's trying to chat you up.

My dealer just ripped it out.

Thanks All, I can't imaginr it's a mini-dsc playeri so the Toll Card reader is favourite. Will see if I can get it removed without affecting any other electrical systems, some of which work and some that don't e.g. seat memory, certain key functions - welcome lights and universal window opening, trip computer re-set. Are these Jags fickle with their electrics?

I don't remember a "black box on the dash". (dealer might have removed it before I noticed)
The Toll unit can just be unplugged - here is what's left in my cubbyhole.
Konichiwa

Upon disconnection, the unit sends an alert to InterPol if there is unpaid Toll. This sentence is a Toll Troll Lol.
