Thank you, my car has the standard halogen bulbs and I was able to replace them all without removing the bumper/lights.
It was a bit fiddly and took about 45 minutes to do them all with only one small cut to my finger.

 

The photo with the headlights on doesn't really indicate (reveal) before & after, or whether the covers or whatever were previously fogged or not.

Ah then, you can change the headlights nine more times, although it might get more difficult as time goes by ("06 FNG" haa haa get it :-) )

Whilst everyone is admiring the headlights, I notice it's a brit car because of no leaper (as is mine from Japan). RHD is just a secondary effect arrff arrff.

 

Spent a day giving the old girl a good clean up. Always a rewarding job and always a good workout for the owner!

 

Replaced the rear air shocks, with lower forward control arms.
On Sat i had use of a lift with some help from the owner.
Those new rear Arnott's are a lot harder to install than the fronts are,
Would be a real pain, it not impossible without a lift.
Now have installed new rears on both Jaguars

 

Since owning my car i have been on the lookout for a half wood stering wheel and decent wooden shifter knob. Search over .
I just need to get that dash cam hardwired in to get rid of the dangly wire!

 

I had a couple of nice weeks driving the XJR and all of this Winter prep talk is making me sad. Unfortunately, living in New England, I too will have let it slumber at some point. For now I gave it a bath and an interior clean, and just put the cover on it. I am trying to be optimistic for a few more weeks. They are talking snow showers Friday though....:-(

 

Among the new steering wheel etc I also bought a colour coded front grille. I was a bit hesitant wether I would like the look of the painted surround but am more than happy with the new look.

The painted surround with that color actually for the first time, makes the "egg crate" grill look really great. Actually better than the mesh grill found on the later models. Nice job with the RRed.

 

I'm not sure what Ford was thinking when they designed the locations and VELO housings for the headlamps. They are simply a complete PITA to change the bulbs for the turn signal and main beam if you have normal to large hands.

Also, why didn't I get failed headlamp messages when the front left, then two weeks later, front right main beams burned out? I have that on my x308 !?!

I finally got my 40 amp power supply cabled for running diagnostics, went to move my x350 onto my lift to chase the MIL, and hey, no MIL. So I'll drive it and put into my X308 going on the lift instead.

It is just like the old saying: "the squeaky wheel should have been greased with the regular preventative maintenance"

Looks nice ..badass. I was all excited that I changed the oil in my supercharger today. Car has 70K on it and probably was the first time it was done based on the oil that came out. Now I have to get all fancy if I'm going to keep up with this crowd

 

I did the SC oil last year too, used a shop vac sucked the blower dry in 8 seconds, made it so much easier.

 

I'm close to pulling the trigger on the Rover air intake and wonder if there is a tutorial on the swap? I see you have done this.... i have a grinder as i understand there is some trim work to fit properly. thx.

 

Yes, so it can fit under the cowl. Your going to grind down the first 4 rows of fins from the throttle body end of the RR intake.


You'll also need a 80mm to 90mm straight coupler to mate the RR intake to the pipe.

It takes a lot to get the rubber coupler fitted on the RR end. I just fitted mine yesterday utilizing my heat gun, my son holding the intake to the work stool and a bit of vaseline and a pick...

 

Was just a swap, no modifications.

 

I never ground a thing, just swapped.

 

It must've been a very tight fit on the top end of the RR intake....

 

Finally wrapping up the larger throttlebody and intake project. Was able to start the Jag today for the first time in over a month. Need to work a few things out tomorrow but fingers crossed it doesn't reject the larger TB.


Pro M Racing 92mm MAF is wired in.

Gave it a new paint job while I had everything out.
