Default Where does This Go?

My ‘04 XJR suffered some minor hail damage (came out of nowhere) before I got it into the garage. I sent it in for paintless dent repair. The car looks great aside from the fact that the interior part of the sunroof now slides rearwards when I accelerate…it’s always something.

When I was looking for an earbud under the driver’s seat today, I found this bolt, which I am certain was not there before. Any idea where it goes? Thanks.

Just a guess but are all the seat bolts in place?

I’ll check tomorrow, but as I recall from when I removed the seats to clean the interior, those bolts are all eTorx.

Has some thread lock residue so it probably passes through a seat rail with a welded nut on the backside where the 2" smooth shaft may act as an end stop or pivot point

Thank you for your responses. I just checked and all 8 seat bolts are in situ.

The conundrum continues…

It will have dropped out of the seat mechanism somewhere.
You are right that the seat floor bolts are Torx, so this bolt has come from elsewhere.

Think you might need to remove that seat to get a good look underneath.

Could it be a leftover from a gas stove that been trasported by second owner decade ago?
Sorry folks, could not resist....
Seriously: Mark probably correct, this could be from seat mechanism and hidden deeper than camera can see. Does seat have any abormal endplay in any of adjustment axis? It could be an axis on traling support. Somebody with seat diagram/experience would be of help here. I just appreciate the humor.

It's a door hinge pin.

That tracks. They probably removed the door to repair the damage. I will check tomorrow.

I appreciate everyone’s help. It appears that that they took it off, lost it underneath the seat, and didn’t bother to say anything or replace it.

Any idea what the torque is on this? 30Nm?

Wow, all it would take is for someone to lean on the door and worst case bent door pillar!
